Unit 30009

Category: Cut    dug in 2015

Area: North

Interpretive Categories: Cut of earliest episode(s) in E platform

Data Category Information: Description: burial

Discussion: Cut of earliest interment episode in burial platform F.638, associated with an adult male skeleton and an infant (Sk.30007 and Sk.30010). Quite broad, the sides meet the base at a very gradual (ca. 30-45º) angle on most of its perimeter.
After the removal of the skeletons it became noticeable that the bottom of the cut was showing the presence of a different, ashier infill, probably that of the construction infill, very silty and midden-like in nature, also found at the bottom of the post-retrieval pit. It is possible, then, that another, earlier building lies under the current B.114.
