Unit 30023
Category: Layer dug in 2015
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Alluvial make-up on elevated ridge of platform
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: raised area (platform)
Discussion: Thick layer of alluvial clay loam on top of ridge of burial platform F.638, lying on top of orange alluvial clay (platform core). This layer and the unit below represent a later extension to the actual platform, as seen in the platform of other buildings. In this case, it appears that this extension phase, rather than extending increasing the dimensions of the platform, served to increase the height of this feature perimeter. Further, from the platform clayish core exposed under this unit it became obvious that the platform was designed as a single entity, with its full extension already envisaged from the beginning of its construction.
