Unit 30237

Category: Layer    dug in 2013

Area: TPC

Interpretive Categories: Burial superstructure

Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Material: brick; Deposition: homogeneous

Discussion: This unit was recognized by colour and relation to burial, and wall fragment. The yellowish bricks made up the eastern fragment of the burial superstructure. They weren't truncated by the burial cut but sat ontop. The same brick type can be seen just above the burial cut in the southern trench wall. It would seem that the bricks originally alligned the burial, or at least flanked the E and W edges. This interpretation derives from the fact that there are no bricks above the middle of the burial in the trench wall.
