Unit 30438
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: TPC
Interpretive Categories: brick marker of burial
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: brick&mortar; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: During our excavation we recognized this layer as a separate unit, because of the brick markers which were quite crumbled and eroded. It seem to protrude into the S- W edge of trench. In finding the W extent of the wall. The burial which we already defined proceeded into the late period. Infill included brick material and this feature (f. 7350) was actually built below the orange layer extent to the southern excavating area. It's bricks were packed inside fill. Between three course of bricks we recognized mortar which joins all bricks belonging to the same marker course. We removed all of these three courses of bricks. The size of bricks ranged in their length, width and thickness between 0.25m- 0.28m (in length), 0.17m- 0.20m (in width), 0.06m- 0.08m (thickness).
