Data Category Information: Deposition: homogeneous

 

Discussion: This unit is located underneath several post-neolithic layers. It has been truncated in the north and the west. The unit has a disturbed uneven surface. Inside the unit towards the north were a cluster of sheep bones. The first couple of cm were very firm and compact, evidence of trampling and long exposure.

The layer is post neoithic due to the fact that layers underneath contained late pottery. However, the material looks like the material the bricks of the neolithic houses are made of. The boundaries of the layer can't be determined due to truncation and trench wall. 

 

Consistency: Firm on top otherwise friable 

Colour: yellow 

Texture: silty, sandy silt / some clayish parts 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: Charcoal, lime 

Post-depositional Features: trampled surface 

Basal Boundary: Distinct, uneven
