Area: Trench 5
Interpretive Categories: mud brick
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Mudbrick of buttress 5062.Super dry and so hard to remove. More heterogeniuous than f. 3346 excavated before. The mortar seems to be stuck in the mud brick layers as if the people who built this construction have put material when it was wet so now mortar and mud are stuck together.
After removing the buttress until the ground, it appears that its layers of mortar and mud brick continue towards the wall (f.3346) so finally it seems that the buttress is sitting on a wall. I thought it was a gigantic buttress next to a wall, but it is a small buttress sitting on a large wall.
The different layers are heterogenous especially for the mortar. There is also one red yellow mud brick. It seems that the wall and the buttress were built fast without caring about its shape.
