Unit 31590
Category: Cut dug in 2016
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: cut of a pit
Data Category Information: Description: pit
Discussion: U.31590 is the cut of a shallow pit F.7875 situated between F.7727 and F.7874 in northern part of the building 132. The outline of this pit cut was exposed after taking out the overlying layer of collapsed plaster (U. 31577). Before that the latter layer covered completely the pit. Shape of the cut was irregular and sloping slightly from the western side. It can be said that the cut was very shallow. What is distinct about this cut was the fine circlular depression on the base (Length: 0,14 m; Width: 0,15). Considering the shape of this cut and the mentioned hollow on the base, it might be said that there might have been a circular-based installation set on the spot, which was taken out during the abandonment of B.132. Apparently the activity of taking out the installation, nevertheless it was anchored shallowly, they needed some force which resulted in wide devastation of the surrounded layers of floor plaster.
