Interpretive Categories: Infill of a cut within the post retrieval pit
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: pit; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: U.31592 is the infill of the cut U.31591 within the post retrieval pit F.7873. This unit is recognized while excavating U. 31555- Infill of the post retrieval pit. Infill of the pit differed on north and after realization of the cut; excavation on U.31592 (Infill) is started. Upper part of the fill was composed of compound layers of plaster brick mortar and sand. Then it became silty sand with less inclusions but it was still the same accumulation process. After 2-3 cm of grayish silty clay infill, more solid dark gray layer is appeared and there was a posthole impression in the middle surrounded by solid gray layer. Within this post hole there was an organic material so that it is taken as S3 (Sample 3- organic material). One piece of burnt flint which was imported from elsewhere is recognized by specialists and more importantly, microblade core which is most probably set there intentionally is found from this unit . There was no animal bone but crop processing signature is realized by botanic specialists.
