Unit 31598
Category: Layer dug in 2016
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: infill of a scoop, scoop infill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: scoop; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: U.31598 refers to the infill of a scoop F.7731 which is right next to F.7730 (scoop) on SW part of building 132. This unit is identified after taking out the U.21670 activity surface in 2015 however, it is excavated in 2016. Infill of this scoop was mid brown and sandy. The cut of the scoop was disturbed by animal on east, and northern parts. Due to animal burrows, it can be said that infill was not clean and according to specialists, there were modern inclusions in it. This unit was same as U.31596 (Infill of a scoop F.7730). There were no obsidian or animal bones from the unit however; husking signature could be identified like in the infill of F.7730.
