Unit 31615
Category: Skeleton dug in 2015
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: primary burial
Data Category Information: none
Description: Tightly flexed burial of a young child lying on its left side.
Discussion: Unit number allocatted in 2015, due to lack of time unit not excavated in 2015.
We excavated the complete body during the first days of 2016 season, the skull and part of the right ribs to the body was exposed, but the rest of the skeleton was just covered by a few centimiters of infill, so the excavation was quite fast. The bones, anyways was a bit damage and the presence of salt mostly in the legs and pelvis dificult a bit the digging process. Close to the right pelvis was visible apart for the salts, a bit of orange patterns or traces stuff that could maybe be organic material, so we decided to take an extra phytolith sample (sample 3). After all the documentation we remove the body, first the right part, beeing able tot see that the left arm was lying on the left leg, just extended not flexed like the right one. Anyways the bones was so fragile, so was very difficult to remove all of them complete, mostly was just broke, was also very difficult to remove the skull. (09/05/2016 -CB)
