Discussion: Pit exposed after remove the primary infill U22324 but clearly defined after remove the dirty floor U32421 in the SW part of the fire installation area. At the first moment, for the position, characteristics and fill of the pit we thought that there was two little scoops in that area, but after remove the fill, was clear that was just a pit, and not a scoop.
The shape of this pit is irregular but with the edges rounded and the bottom slopping in direction E-W. This pit is cutting the south wall of the building F7827, the dirty floor U32440 and the extreme SW of the oven F7838. We interpreted this cut as a pit, but is hard to say the function. As a hypothesis we can suggest that can be a post retrieval pit (we found remains of wood inside) related with a post placed in that part of the building and maybe related with the fire installation area?
