Category: Layer dug in 2017
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Burial fill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: This fill constitutes a block cut that had potential to contain a perinatal individual buried within a basket. The block was excavated off site (in the conservation lab) by a member of the human remains team. The fill contained numerous fragments of animal bone, small pebbles, charcoal and fragments of plaster. The bottom layers of the fill contained disarticulated skeletal elements of a prenatal fetus (Sk. 32698).
