Unit 32669
Category: Layer dug in 2017
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Fire spot
Data Category Information: Description: fire spots (non-structured); Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: Deposit exposed during the digging process of the U32653. Correspond to a concentration of ashes and charcoal in the central west past of the area, but has to be treated as part of the deposit U32653. We assigned a new unit only because the concentration of charcoal, so is safest context in case samples for dating are needed.
There were no traces of burn around this deposit, and seems more related with remains of a cleaning process of an oven or fire spot than an activity area.
We want to notice that around the same area, just a bit deep, a proper fire spot was documented (U32675).
We also want to notice that the fire spot is probably part of the feasting deposit U32653 even that is related with the room infill U32673. The top of this unit was assigned arbitrarily, but the composition of the soil was exactly the same as the U32653, so part of the finds of this room infill could still be part of the feasting deposit.
