Unit 3510
Category: layer dug in 1998
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Post retrieval pit fill
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Possible ladder retrieval hole along the East wall in the South Eastern corner of Building 3. Directly underneath unit 2295, ash. It had been filled by architectural debris as bricks and plaster. It was probably widend by series of animal holes running in all directions.
It is not ladder retrieval pit, but post retrieval pit.
Unit 2295 was a very ashy deposit with some bone and other material in it. The extent of the ashy deposits were about the same in size as Feature 171, unit 3510.

Unit description: Small unit with a few bones identifiable as sheep/goat. NR 2003: Sample 1 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. A moderate size sample with mostly sheep-size scrap ranging up to 5-6 cm. While some are worn or digested, most are notable for being extremely fresh. There is one specimen each of bird, microfauna, and fish. A little burning, quite fragmented. Looks like not very exciting sweepings from daily meals, with a wee bit of floor material included.
