Unit 3525
Category: layer dug in 1999
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Plaster feature,Wall plaster
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Extensive spread of white plaster with clear multiple applications. Some of the plaster occurs around circular blobs. All appears to be collapsed, perhaps onto its face, possibly from the west (from the west wall?). No traces of paint on the plaster, some smoked areas. Whole thing disintegrates upon excavation - large lumps are kept and closely examined. Not clear what relationship is between this collapsed plaster and the "screen wall", but plaster is along same orientation.
Some of the plaster is very fine, in a series of white washes. Also some smoked grey plaster faces. After removal of much of plaster in east part of F155, it looks like there may still be in situ plaster feature here, so removal is halted, area cleaned and deposits underlying eastern part of F155 are removed.
Plaster has been looked at by MS..see her notes on this.
