Discussion: Began removing "fire instalation" ashuman skull was being prepared for removal. As the burnt layers were removed there was a second skull found facing the first (face to face) which were in the layer just below roof collapse, 14-7-99 while Mira & Pedra excavated the oven remains they found 4 burnt rock fragments one of which was a grinding stone. Also animal bone was present.
Recognition: Orange burnt color in a thin layer very distinct from surrounding matrix.
Definition: Clear boundaies by color & friability of material.
Execution: Trowel starting on NE side and sectioning the unit
Condition: Dry and friable
Consistency: soft friable areas combined with firm areas
Colour: 7.5YR 6/6 top layer / 5YR4/3 central layer / 10YR 6/4 lower layer
Texture: silty clay (60% clay)
Bedding: layered (with 3 clear layers:1. upper (10mm); 2.central (30mm); 3. lower (55mm) composition: 1. burnt clay; 2. burnt roof mat; 3. roof material ; flat paralel
Inclusions: layer 1: plant voids 2-55% flecks layer3: charcoal 5% 2-6cm, burnt clayaggreg.5% 5-10cm
