Unit 3570
Category: layer dug in 1999
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: fill above floor
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: The soil in this unit is bounded on the top by two light grey brittle/ flacky tummbled plaster layer. At the lowest excavated level, a thick layer of black organicly rich ashy remains exist.
Open to debate, there are any number of floor surfaces sandwiched between plastered tumbble &
burnt remains an upper plaster surface seems to exist on E. side, however the lack of consistent composition (ocasional chunks of large plaster pieces) suggests a fallen plaster surface to some. A darker packed earth surface of earlier origin seems to extend from the W. but was difficult to follow.
The animal bone/horncore (?) on the middle of S. side of unit extends down through floor to an earlier level.
29.07.99. RET: horncore is lying in cut (??? post retrival) in S. side of unit.
