Interpretive Categories: Infill

Data Category Information: Location: between walls; Deposition: homogeneous

Dimensions: 1.5 m E-W x max 8 cm, min 2 cm N-S x Max 33 cm thick

Discussion: Remains of infill between wall F270 and all 5 of this (299) at southwest end of walls. Persumably this deposit would have continued along the walls, but been removed during excavation of F270(?). Infill quite similar to midden deposit below, but at closer look it seems more mixed and fragmantery and lacking the kitchen type depsir (hackberries, shell, bone). C. 20% of it is consisted of charcoal, 5% lumps of mudbrick and plaster.

Partially excavated in 1998 - only for question of survival.

Recognition: Loose deposit between F270 and wall to the South of 270.

Definition: In between walls.

Execution: Trowel.

Condition: Dry.

Consistency: Dry.

Colour: 10YR 6/2 light brownish grey (dominant) and patches of 10YR 6/8 brownish yellow and 10YR 8/1 white.

Texture: Silty clay.

Bedding: Massive.

Inclusions: 20% charcoal, <2% lumps of plaster and mudbrick (building aggregates).

Post-depositional Features: Some salt and significant root activity between wall and infill.

Basal Boundary: Base not reached, as it extends below midden section. Left due to imprint of wall 270 in it.
