Discussion: Eighth layer of floor lenses on platform F239. Labelled layer 14 on plan 98-639.

This layer was discontinuous, and had salt patches and the plaster layer below (3894) showed through this unit in the SE corner. 

 

Recognition: Floor of platform. Colour/texture changes. 

Definition: Defined by limit of excavation. 

Execution: Leaf trowel and patience. 

Condition: Dry. 

Consistency: compact but friable 

Colour: 7.5 YR 4/2 

Texture: clayey, ashy, plastic 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: phytoliths 

Post-depositional Features: animal hole in SE corner 

Basal Boundary: discontinous/surfaces cracked slightly, pitted
