Dimensions: 1.24m n-s, 0.98m w-e, 0.1 to 0.19m thick 

Discussion: A large relatively homogenous lump of plaster like material containing some dirtier material (3991), in the s-w corner of space 117. This does not appear to be a platform as initially believed but instead a base for oven F.268. Which would have raised its height significantly. It sealed an earlier oven F.450 and was probably added at the end of the life of oven F.290 to the north.

Colour: pale grey/off white 

Texture: clay 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: occasional phytolith, charcoal flecks, large groundstone/clay balls

Basal Boundary: sharp, distinct, sloping to north following underlying oven, anthropic
