Discussion: 380L unseived.
The brick + mortar of wall 414 were composed of very similar + almost indistinguishable material. They were seperated using the shapes of brick and slaty layers at interface, rather than through differences in material Dry Sieve Information: Also 380L hand picked 

Recognition: brick + mortar in wall 414, distinguished using shape of bricks + salty interfaces 

Definition: north - wall 78, west - edge wall 414, south - cut in 1996, east - infill 4201 

Execution: trowel + mattock 

Condition: baked dry - very hard 

Consistency: both very firm 

Colour: both grey/orange-brown 

Texture: silt 

Bedding: both massive 

Inclusions: very few - flecks charcoal, phytolith/charcoal spread in north at interface, <2% bone - small, small chunks hard orange clay 1cm cubed, 1 or 2 small shell pieces, tuber (1) 

Post-depositional Features: white salt at interfaces 

Basal Boundary: constructional, abrupt, prominent contrast, smooth/wavy, sloped down n-s
