Discussion:
Neolithic infill. Infill of lower building to make a firm foundation for the next phase of building ie. space163 building 6. 

 

Recognition: Fill in South east corner of space 163. 

Definition: Defined on the south and east side by walls of building 6. North and west edges are arbitrary. 

Execution: Mattock 

Condition: Good, moist 

Consistency: Firm to soft, variable, but fairly compact. 

Colour: Dark grey brown with patches of light beige plaster and patches of varying shades of brown, lighter mid-brown patches, dark brown brick inclusions, white speckes/flecks. 

Texture: Silty clay 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: Plaster about 20 %, animal bones less than 2%, some cow phalanges, clay balls less than 2% only a few fragments, charcoal less than 2%. 

Post-depositional Features: none observable 

Basal Boundary: Fairly arbitrary, stopped just above features
