Recognition: Very loose disturbed sandy matrix with frequent roots 

Definition: defined as consolidation horizon to protect Mellaart's exposed walls by Cambridge team in western part of (?) to wg wall K829. Plastic bags and hessain sacks suggest the recent nature of this horizon. 

Execution: mattock + shovel 

Consistency: heterogeneous loose matrix with frequent root action. 

Colour: light brown and orangish brown 

Texture: silty sand w/ occasional small frags of mudbrick, also lenses of 'straw'/wood fragments suggesting recent deposition 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: hessian sacks mark the consolidation line. Frequent animal bone and occasional other artifacts including obsidian.
