Unit 6206

Category: layer    dug in 1999

Area: North

Interpretive Categories: pit fill

Data Category Information: none

Dimensions: 62 x 51cm

Discussion: This was a htin layer of plaster (7-10mm thick) which sealed the burial cut (F.617). The plaster layer was thicker at the edges. Also some of the gray, ashy soli under it has seafed at the edges to the surface.

The plaster is veryfine and clean and it has grayish nuance. This color is slightly different from the surrounding platform where plaster has yellow blue.
It would be interesting to learn how and why the two nuanced plasters are different.

The flotation sample contains the plaster and some of the ashy gray soli under it which got attached to it (same soil as in unit 6211).
