Unit 6231
Category: Cluster dug in 1999
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: plaster sculpture,wall plaster
Data Category Information: Location: building; Material: plaster; Deposition: primary deposition
Discussion: This unit comprises plasters that were in the pit fill (F.602). We suspected that the plaster belonged to a boukranion or similar sculptured object. It was lifted in several large pieces w/half of conservators (Frank +). They were set in perlite in a bix carboard box (trinitron) waiting to be further studied. When lifted the plaster did not seem to have any special shape or decoration on it surface (face down).
Recognition: plaster in fill of pit
