Unit 6891
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: TP
Interpretive Categories: stone wall
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking
Dimensions: 0,80 x 0,60 x 0,18
Discussion: The wall is built of stones of different size and shape. Preserved part consists of one layer, stones (E side) and two layers (W side). The wall was destroyed by a later pit (unit 6823) that was oriented (W-E). The wall (itself oriented N-S) was built on top of earlier wall oriented W-E (made of mud bricks). Its remaining part is recorded as unit 6892. The preserved wall has the following dimensions: 82 x 62 up to 18 cm deep. It might be that this s a foundation of the wall that might have been built of mud bricks. The wall was placed on a levelled layer of brown / grey sand (very mixed soil, probably a midden)
