Discussion: This deposit and 8008 were sketched and are not to be found on a plan. 8009 and any deposits underneath it have plans however. 

 

Recognition: As left by Greek team in 1997 

Definition: Clear identification by colour change. Deposit enclosed by mudbrick wall of oven. 

Execution: Trowel in plan. Half of the oven already excavated by Greek team. 

Condition: Very dry (inside a shelter !) 

Consistency: Loose 

Colour: Medium brown 

Texture: Sandy silt 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: Large stones, plaster lumps, friable 

Post-depositional Features: none 

Basal Boundary: Clear change in colour, sharp. Sloping to the north.
