Discussion: plaster or mortar layer, last of platform ext. F. 1318, which seals platform ext. F1317 after its removal F1317 could be seen to have a red painted plaster face. The ashy deposit shown above and described over is probably part of same unit, which has been burnt by a later series of hearth's describe in the greek excavation 

 

Consistency: Friable to soft 

Colour: Pale to dark grey 

Texture: Clayey silt 

Bedding: Layered 

Inclusions: Freq. S.r to s.a. pebbles <20mm, mod white plaster fragments <15mm
