Unit 8123
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: wall infill
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: The unit comprises the top soil of the wall 761. During the scraping and brushing of the wall in order to draw it, we came across a large and very promising chank of charcoal. Laura Steele has spoted around 60 rings on it. We decided to take the charcoal as sample 1. The charcoal seems to be lying in the mortar on the outside of the double wall. Next to it is lightly disturbed wall by the later burial cut.
