Discussion: This unit is the pinkish grey packing beneath the mini balls and F. 758. The cuplike egg crate appearance left from the removal of the clay balls carried over into the underlying plaster- there were small depressions which left a polka-dot appearance as I didn't trowel all the clay out. It is apparent that the mini balls were placed into this layer while it was still wet, thus the eggshell appearance. This layer was at its thickest ~ 5mm and maybe only 2mm elsewhere.
