Unit 8183
Category: Layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: burial fill
Data Category Information: none
Dimensions: 32 cm N-S x 37 cm E-W
Discussion: 8183 was started from a larger area than the actual basket and the burial. Because the burial pit was previously opened last year for 6681 and 6682.
The original burial cut was shown to be too large. The burial+basket were in the eastern part in this cut only. Three flotation samples were taken for 8183: The first (S2) were taken from the large area where charcoal was dominant. The second sample (S4) consisted of the burial fill immediately around the skeleton (above+below). The third flotation sample (S5) was taken after the removal of the basket. This sample was mainly from the area of the basket and basal boundary of the skeleton.
