Unit 8254
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: white floor and packing
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Removal of upper basin floor, coming down onto lower one (8199). Removed rather thick layer of plaster which seem to hae been in use fo a longer period of time (2-3 cm) and packing underneath. This floor goes under Kari's and my nice floor (number!) to the north and under basin 8262 to the east. Left northeast bits and eastern reidge of basins which belong to 8165 for photo. Will remove later on. In addition, excavation of this unit involved the removal of the plaster lip of the basin on the north end. This lip consisted of a plaster layer over a mixed fill consisting of light brown pacing, pieces of plaster and burned clay. This lip was built in one construction phase and was built on top of the white plaster floor that was designated as unit 8285.
