Unit 8307

Category: layer    dug in 2001

Area: North

Interpretive Categories: wall

Data Category Information: none

Dimensions: 84cm E-W X 7 cm N-S

Discussion: This unit comprises the removal fo the first level (brick?) of the small wall that separates the oven space from the NW corner of former Sp. 158.

I took off the top clayey (bricklike) portion and it fell off and gave way to a surface on top of a sandy brick that spanned from the west wall to the eastern wall (F. 772).

The sandy level appears to have been a threshold that goes with the phytolith/salts surface that is on either side (below) as the basal boundary of units 8251 and 8277. This threshold has been given F. # 787.
