Description: fill of F.750 

 

Discussion: A gray brown mixed semi hard deposit containing many inclusion of lime and charcoal was removed. Beneath this crumbly matrix a loose dark gray ashy deposit containing large amount and large chunks of lime and charcoal (up to ca. 3 cm) was encountered. This was taken as the bottom of the unit. Within the unit a clay ridge with a black surface was encountered, that aligns well with a clay ridge in section of wall 635 (front one drawing) made of plaster.
Clay ridge is part of F.750.
