Discussion: THE UNIT COMPRISES REMAINS OF THE BENCH WHICH WAS BUILT IN THE FRONT OF THE POST (F. 168) AND AS A SOUTHERN EDGE OF PLATFORM 170. THE REMAINS OF THE BENCH ARE LAYERS OF COMPACT, DRY, LIGHT BROWN CLAY. THEY WERE PUT RIGHT ON THE MIDDEN BELOW THE BLDG. ORIGINALLY THE BENCH WAS 40 CM WIDE IN THE AREA WHERE IT WAS ATTACHED TO THE PLASTER OF THE POST (F. 168). THE EDGES WERE STRAIGHT AND ANGLES WERE 90*. The unit 8578 is made of the brown clay that belongs to the bench (f. 792) BUT ALSO SOME MIDDEN DEPOSIT WHICH WERE CAUGHT ON THE BOTTOM LAYER OF THE BENCH BROWN CLAY.
