Discussion: The unit comprises a mixture of bricks and mortar which the W wall of sp. 89 (F. 1017) was made of. This is one of the three units that the wall will be excavated in, and this unit is the combination of bricks and mortar.
First 5 rows of bricks form the remains of the W wall of space 89. Bricks are made of silty sandy clay, light brown/beige in colour. The same type used for later walls of building 3 (?) and space 89.
Mortar is made of very similar soil except that it was mixed with midden-like material (charcoal, ash, animal bones, obsidian debitage), which made it sticky and firm.
Rows of bricks and mortar are sloping southwards so that the layers of mortar ate thicker in the south part of the wall. Also south half of the wall is moist and darker in colour (bricks are orange-brown, mortar is gray to black). As was the case with E wall of space 88 (F. 168).
