Discussion: Infill of space 238 and above collapsse in doorway.
The trench was extended to the west to allow the entire fill to be excavated. However initially an arbitary section was cut at the LOE showing that the upper part of the fill (0.30m) was darker with less ash. The lower part was probably backfill after a fire although the two were excavated as one because this distinction could not be made when excavated in plan.
X2 the bone point was found close to the cattle and boar skulls 10057 and 10059

X-finds. X1 easting in wrong place, moved to the mid x value from 1035.4 17/08/09 CAH/CM. 

 

Recognition: Fill to the west of collapse 10052 and to the west a wall plastered on both sides indicating an additional room to building 45 

Definition: Within walls and on top of 10061 to the northern part of the space 

Execution: Mattock 

Condition: Cool and wet to begin 

Consistency: Loose 

Colour: Light orangish grey 

Texture: Ash 40%; sandy silt 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: Occasional mud brick frags; very occasional pot and bone 

Post-depositional Features: Animal burrows 

Basal Boundary: Floor
