Discussion: Ashy soil contained within a depression in the corner of house 2, with a large piece of stone within it on the E edge. The N wall wasn't properly cleaned, so this showed up in section. When I cleaned it back it showed this deposit originally covered the stone and went just E of it, extending its W-E measurement to 0.495m.

Colour: 2.5YR 2/3 v. dark greyish brown 

Texture: silty clay with ash 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: <2% plaster <1cm; <2% clay <1cm; <2% charcoal <1cm
