Unit 10426
Category: layer dug in 2004
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: plaster surface
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: white clay; Deposition: single
Discussion: Plaster surface abbuting bench F1503 to NE, surface (10411) to N and hearth F1507 to W.
In places plaster peeled off as if there was more than one later and was 0.08m deep in places. Possible that areas represented repair/replastering. However, no distinct layers within plaster could be chased.
Plaster surface appears to represent general elaboration and aglomoration of platforms within building 42. Truncated to S by shelter footprint.
Recognition: Visible under cleaning layer (10424) and edges defined by mudbrick to E and bench F1503 and surface (10411) to N and hearth F1507.
