Discussion: Layers of plaster floors and make-up in front of the gap in west wall of house 2 (bedding to house 12). N.B. NO LEVELS WERE TAKEN AS THE EDM WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND THIS WAS AN ARBITRARY LAYER WITHIN MANY FLOORS. LEVELS TAKEN ON 1040, AND ON SURFACE 1047

Condition: hot, bright, sunny, dry 

Consistency: very compact 

Colour: 10YR 6/3 - 10YR 8/1 

Texture: silty clay/clay 

Bedding: layered 

Inclusions:  

Post-depositional Features: very worn in areas, in fact patches completely worn away. 

Basal Boundary: Clear, but sometimes changeable. Mainly comes onto plaster especially at S and N end; in centre often plaster disappears and we come onto gritty base (N half), or sandy make-up (S half) of grey clayey make-up (middle)
