Discussion: Arbitrary layer- first cleaning /digging of half o this room. Very mixed layer most of which is probably a closing or tapping of the underlying midden before construction of floors & walls of the building. Deposit very clayey & mixed with much large brick, mortar & plaster. by pit 1076/7 in centre. 

 

Execution: Small pick & trowel 

Condition: Hot & dry 

Consistency: Strong but mixed 

Colour: 10YR 6/2 

Texture: Silty clay 

Bedding: Mixed massive, compound 

Inclusions: Artifacts brick, plaster, shell, charcoal, rocks, morter, all varying enormously in size t about 15 %.
