Unit 1058
Category: layer dug in 1996
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: room fill
Data Category Information: Description: 60's
Discussion: Room fill left adjacent to west facing wall of the VIII.12 by Mellaart and truncated by him. Originally sketched as above then south end of which very little remained was taken with it, so it extended to 356cm though only as a skim on the wall. the south part was much more lumpy and clayey. It came down onto fugitive floors but still no clear junction with the wall. The north end of the floors were truncated by a pit, so that the relationship with the plaster lining 'the gap' was still unclear. The plaster lining the south end of 'the gap' was not visible but a plastered feature to the south of it has now appeared - probably the pillar mentioned by Mellaart. At the base of this pillar is clay.
