Unit 10640
Category: layer dug in 2004
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: platform makeup layer
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: raised area (platform); Material: plaster; Deposition: homogeneous; Basal Spit: unpainted
Discussion: Layer is thinner at North, thicker at south where there was a lot more soft and crumbly silty sand which fell away as part of the layer - a common surface has been revealed showing a definite boundary with the area of pot scatter, possibly a rubbish bin. This layer seems to be a make-up, levelling layer which partly covered and levelled out a slumping toward the pots
