Description: cut in southwestern part extant s112, close to 1997/1998 section
Discussion: The cut was first recognized in the southern section because of the distinct plaster like fill at the bottom of the cut.
Upon excavtion this proved to be a real feature but the edges were not easy to define. However I believe that the pit we arrived at is fairly accurate.
The cut contained two fill deposits; unit 10820 and unit 10816. The function of this cut remains enigmatic.
Note 17-07-04
upon closer study it became clear that this is a post retrieval pit given that Mellaart found a post at this spot and the post retrieval pit on the opposite wall (f1705).
