Unit 1087
Category: layer dug in 1996
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: building fill
Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: 1.04 x 3.36 x 0.10 - 0.15
Discussion: upper layer of building fill in west half of space 106, i.e. generally equivalent to (1053). IT is clear from the section as well as in plan that these deposits although very mixed and heterogeneous with brick charcoal, plaster silicified organic and possible coprolites etc. are not stratified beyond small lenses, which probably represent tip lines within a rapidly accumulated infill. In this case the lenses generally slope down slightly from S to N. This lack of extensive stratigraphy differentiates the 'building fills' from the 'midden deposits' even though their composition may be similar (however the 'midden' is generally also a lot more ashy.

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
