Unit 10916
Category: layer dug in 2004
Area: TP
Interpretive Categories: make up
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: external; Material: brick; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: This is a layer consisting of partly diagonally placed greyish mudbricks. This layer was placed beetwen plaster (unit 10905) from W, plaster (10981) from the N side and was destroyed from S side by a cut (7825) as well as by cut 10964 in its eastern part.
Over this layer (10916) there was a possibly Roman floor (10903) so the Neolithic floor must have been destroyed (but no sign of it was noticed) or there was no floor over his layer and this area was not being used as everyday activity area.
The unit consisted first of greyish mudbricks and underneath there was a layer of plaster, which however was not recorded on the whole surface.
The unit was finished when bucrania (10562) and human bones were discovered under the plastering. In the W part of the unit,it was finished by recording a plastered bench.
The human bones continue in other part of the Space 248, within unit 10986.
In the NW part of the unit 10916 (underneath) the layer of plastre which was connected above, was not excavated as unit 10916 but left, to be recovered.
