Female skeleton tightly flexed position. A plastered skull was put between the arms, on the chest as a grave good. Due to the extensive animall disturbance and roots the bones are in really bad condition. Plastered skull is lifted with the surrounding bones as a block (parts of the arm bones, left side of the upper body).
A shell with a white bead and bone bead found near the R lower arm. There might be more under the skull. Hands, some verts, most of the skull chewed up and missing due to animal disturbance.

GSC:
Skeleton 11306 represents an interesting and important feature with regards to the construction of Building 42. A female adult very tightly flexed into an extremely tight cut [11307], well defined within midden deposit (11347). Preservation of human remains reasonably good, although extensive animal burrowing did disturb some areas, such as the skull. Eastern extent of cut lost to truncation by F1513 and severe animal damage. Northern edge also slightly distorted and not yet clear due to presence of clay marl (11300), as yet unexcavated. Represents strategraphic problem that needs to be dealt with in coming season. Some deposits of marl material did appear to overly this burial although it is thought that this is a likely representation of slumping of some kind and does not represent a deliberate or structured deposition.
Grave also contains the plastered and subsequently painted skull of an elderly adult, as yet gendered. Could be classified as a grave good and unit number (11330) given. Placed between the arms of the female, and facing into the chest so (11306) is clutching this important grave good. Once again animal burrowing has partially destroyed the skull. Signifies an important individual.
Neonate (10498) F1516 is likely to relate to this individual and potentially shares the grave cut (only 3cm of fill separate the two skeletons). Both are cut through midden material and both are likely to relate to a pre-construction phase of burial, and likely to have instigated the building of platform F1501.
