Data Category Information: Deposition: heterogeneous
Dimensions: 1.50 x 1.08 x 0.10 m
Discussion: It is probably a fragment of either make-up layer or infill layer placed on top of a wall in SW part of trench. Above unit 1216 there was a pit (feature 1928) excavated in 2005. Northern boundary of the layer was first defined arbitrary as a layer over extension of a wall (11764). Further exploration proved this decision to be correct. Western section of the layer was truncated by eastern edge of Mellaart's trench, which makes its ultimate interpretation different.
This is a heterogenous layer. On top it is composed mainly of light grey silty sand with a rubble- like destroyed fragments of bricks. The lower part consisted of more sandy component and it seemed to be a kind of infill. On the other hand, stratigraphically the unit lies underneath walls (11764, 11714) so It might be a kind of make-up layer for these walls. The base of the unit in its western part was very sharp because it lies on op ofa well defined wall. However, slope of possible observation is limiteddue to destruction by the above located cut (11713) of feature 1928. As a result, recognition of the unit's basal boundary in its eastern section became impossible.

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
