Dimensions: 0.6m skull to feet 

 

Discussion: Infant burial, neolithic, within Sp 272, B53 in fairly well defined cut. Exposed on Thursday and left over Friday (day off) with geotextile, plastic sheet, sandbag and moist filter paper as protective covering. A new technique for human remains and conservators, appears to have protecte skeleton well, hadnt dried out and no condensation on bones.

Body: on rhs, head at east 

Head: on rhs, facing north, slightly crushed 

Right Arm: under body, bent at elbow so hand is by mouth 

Left Arm: extends away from body, slightly bent to NW, hand by knees 

Right Leg: both legs flexed at knees so they extend north from body with feet to west beneath pelvis. 

Left Leg:  

Other comments: skull quite crushed, epiphsis unfused and out of correct location in some cases. Ear bones (stirrup,hammer and anvil) recovered in excellent condition. Complete articulation, inhumed whole 

Surface Modifications: animal burrow to N of skull, damaging skull and jaw, Skull crushed.
