Unit 1300
Category: layer dug in 1996
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: room fill
Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: Little differences from layer (1294) except generally far less inclusions and a much more homogeneous soil - just as compact. However there are confusing patches of plaster - very thick in places which seem to have fallen off the wall face running N.S- especially widespread and continuous along off the wall here & in places show a bedding angle as is fallen off the wall (see sketch). Sample kept ~50 re-plasterings (18 mm thick).
Associated with bucranium found 15/8/96 is NE corner of area much of plaster around this area may have covered bucranium, although certainly a substantial part of plaster was layered & fall off from wall.
Bone tool - max. L 130 mm , max. W 80 mm (Photos taken)
Other type of plaster not noticeably layered & may therefore have enclosed bucranium.
